How rankings are produced
Four AI assistants
We query ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity with web search enabled. The same prompt set runs across all four.
Non-branded prompts
Brands are ranked by share of mentions on prompts that do not name any brand. This measures category authority, not branded recall.
Monthly canonical runs
New runs each month. Operators review and lock each run before publication. Previous runs are archived.
Brands ranked here today
Ranked brands are listed via the sub-category pages. The path to ranking is recommendation infrastructure, not advertising.

PRI for brands is the subscription product that builds the recommendation infrastructure AI cites when it recommends brands.
How PRI for brands worksFrequently asked questions
What is the Product Recommendation Index?
PRI is a public monthly index of how often product brands are recommended by ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity when consumers ask category and comparison questions. AI See You publishes the rankings.
Which categories does PRI cover?
Currently 5 categories: Premium Skincare, Mattresses and Bedding, Furniture, Luggage and Travel, Cycling Apparel. New categories are added as data accumulates and operator review is complete.
Why these categories specifically?
PRI launches with categories where consumer AI recommendation behaviour is meaningful and where there is a clear set of brands competing for category authority. Categories with established retail dominance and limited consumer choice are not strong PRI candidates.
Will more categories be added?
Yes. New categories are added as PRI runs complete and operator review locks the canonical data. The category list above is current as of the latest review.
What is the difference between PRI and SRI?
PRI tracks product brands. SRI (Service Recommendation Index) tracks service businesses. Both apply the same measurement methodology across the same four AI assistants. PRI is organised by category and sub-category. SRI is organised by industry, country, and city.
How are rankings produced?
Each sub-category gets a structured prompt set across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity with web search enabled. Brand mentions are counted and aggregated within the sub-category. The full method is documented at /methodology/.
Can a brand pay to appear or rank higher?
No. Rankings reflect AI assistant outputs only. Brands cannot pay AI See You to influence their ranking. The commercial product is helping brands improve their underlying recommendation infrastructure, not their position on this page.
How do I see my brand's recommendation profile?
Brand profiles are at /brands/{brand-slug}/. They show how each brand performs across the sub-categories where it appears.
