1. Introduction
AI See You Pty Ltd (ABN 28 690 536 200) (“AI See You”, “we”, “us” or “our”) measures and certifies how AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity recommend accommodation properties to travellers, and makes that certified measurement available to the businesses it concerns.
We are committed to protecting the privacy of individuals who use our website and platform, and of individuals whose business contact details we hold in connection with a property we measure. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and disclose it, and the rights you have in relation to it.
This Privacy Policy applies to our website, our Recommendation Intelligence service, the Free Property Profile, the property claim flow, and our outreach to accommodation businesses about their certified readings (together, the “Service”).
We are an Australian business and this Privacy Policy is written to comply with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and, in respect of contacts in New Zealand, the Privacy Act 2020 (NZ). Because we anticipate operating in the United Kingdom, the European Union and the United States as we expand, this Privacy Policy also explains the additional rights available to individuals protected by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as described in sections 13 and 14 below.

3. The two ways we hold personal information
Because of how the Service operates, we hold personal information about two different groups of people, and it is important to be clear about which applies to you.
Claimants and account holders. If you have created an account, claimed a property profile, or otherwise signed up to use the Service, sections 4 to 6 below describe what we collect from you directly and how we use it.
Business contacts we have not yet heard from. Separately, as part of measuring and reporting on accommodation properties, we hold business contact details, such as a name, job title and work email address, for people who have not signed up for the Service or created an account. We hold these details because we have sent, or intend to send, that person or their property a notification about a certified reading concerning their property. Section 7 below explains where this information comes from and what we do with it. If you have received an email from us about a certified reading and have not claimed your property, section 7 is the part of this policy that applies to you, and every such email carries its own notification of collection consistent with this section.
4. Personal information we collect from claimants and account holders
Account information. When you claim a property or create an account, we collect your full name, work email address and a password (your password is handled securely by our authentication provider and is never visible to us in plain text).
Claim and role information. Where you provide it, we collect your role at the property you claim. This field is optional and is only requested where it helps us assess a claim under Affiliation Review.
Communication preference. We record whether you have opted in to receive the monthly certified reading by email, together with the date of that choice.
Communications. If you contact us by email or through the Service, we collect the information you provide in that correspondence, including your name, contact details and the content of your message.
Billing information, where applicable. Where you request or hold paid access to the Service, we collect the billing and contact details necessary to arrange and invoice that access. Where a payment is processed through a third-party payment provider, that provider collects your payment card details directly; we do not store full card numbers.
Usage and technical information. We collect information about how you use our website, including pages visited, general location (derived from IP address), device and browser type, and referring website, through Google Analytics as described in section 8.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive information (as defined by the Privacy Act) unless you choose to provide it to us, and we do not collect government identifiers such as tax file numbers.
5. How we collect personal information from claimants and account holders
Wherever practicable, we collect this personal information directly from you, including when you:
• claim a property profile or create an account;
• respond to a claim invitation or Affiliation Review request;
• request paid access to the Service;
• contact us by email or through the Service;
• otherwise provide information to us voluntarily.
We may also collect information automatically through your use of our website, using cookies and analytics tools as described in section 8.
6. How we use personal information about claimants and account holders
We use this personal information to:
• create, verify and administer your account and property claim, including assessing a claim through Affiliation Review;
• provide, operate and improve the Service, including delivering the certified reading you have access to;
• send you the monthly certified reading email, where you have opted in, and other transactional communications relating to your account;
• arrange and manage paid access to the Service, where applicable, including billing;
• respond to your enquiries and provide support;
• understand how our website and Service are used, so that we can improve them;
• detect, investigate and prevent fraud, security incidents and misuse of the Service, including fraudulent or unauthorised property claims;
• comply with our legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information to third parties, and we do not use your personal information for purposes unrelated to those described in this Privacy Policy without your consent.
7. Personal information about business contacts who have not claimed a property
What we hold. As part of operating the Service, we hold business contact details for people associated with accommodation properties we measure, typically a name, job title or role, work email address, and the property they are associated with. In many cases the person concerned has not created an account, claimed a property, or otherwise interacted with us.
Where this comes from. We obtain these details either from information the property itself has published, such as a contact listed on the property’s own website or a functional departmental mailbox, or from a third-party data enrichment provider. Where a third-party provider is the source, the name of that provider is disclosed to the individual in the notification email described below.
Why we hold it. We hold this information for the purpose of sending a monthly notification about the certified reading concerning that person’s property. It is not used for any other marketing purpose, and we do not use it to build a general marketing list.
Notification at first contact. Consistent with Australian Privacy Principle 5 and, where applicable, New Zealand’s IPP 3A, the first email we send to a named individual sourced this way includes a notification stating why they received it, where their details came from (including the name of any third-party provider), what we use them for, their rights to access, correct or request deletion of their information, and a link to this Privacy Policy. That notification is not a formality: it is designed to appear in full in the email itself, and it is not repeated in every subsequent email.
Your rights if you have not claimed a property. You can ask us what business contact information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to stop holding it, at any time, by replying to any email you have received from us or by contacting legal@ai-seeyou.com. Every email we send of this kind also includes a one-click unsubscribe link that requires no account or password and is actioned immediately.
We do not send unsolicited commercial email in the sense prohibited by the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) or the New Zealand Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007. Where we rely on a published contact for an individual, we only do so where that publication does not carry a statement refusing unsolicited messages, and the message is relevant to that person’s role, consistent with the deemed consent basis available under Australian and New Zealand law for business-to-business contact of this kind.
8. Cookies and Google Analytics
Our website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, to help us understand how visitors use our website. Google Analytics uses cookies, which are small text files placed on your device, to collect standard information such as pages visited, time spent on the site, general geographic location derived from IP address, device type and referring website.
The information generated by Google Analytics about your use of our website is transmitted to and stored by Google, including on servers located outside Australia. Google may use this information in accordance with its own privacy policy, available at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
You can prevent Google Analytics from recognising you on return visits by disabling cookies in your browser settings, or by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on available at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of our website.
We do not currently use any other third-party advertising or tracking tools. If this changes, we will update this Privacy Policy.
9. Disclosure of personal information
We disclose personal information to trusted third-party service providers who help us operate the Service. These providers are only permitted to use personal information for the purpose of providing services to us, and not for their own independent purposes. The service providers we currently use include:
Supabase, which provides the authentication and database infrastructure underlying our platform, and therefore stores account, claim and property information on our behalf.
Resend, which delivers transactional emails on our behalf, such as claim confirmations and password reset emails.
Data enrichment providers, which we may use to source or verify business contact details for accommodation properties, as described in section 7. Where a provider supplies any part of a contact record used to send an individual a notification, that provider is named in the notification.
A payment processor, where you hold paid access to the Service, which collects and stores your payment card details directly. We do not receive or store full card numbers.
Google, through Google Analytics, as described in section 8.
We may also disclose personal information where required or authorised by law, for example in response to a lawful request from a law enforcement or regulatory body, or where necessary to protect our rights, property or safety, or that of our users or others.
We do not sell personal information to any third party.
10. Overseas disclosure and storage
Some of the service providers listed in section 9, including Supabase, Resend, our payment processor, and Google, store or process personal information on servers located outside Australia, including in the United States.
Before disclosing personal information to an overseas recipient, we take reasonable steps to satisfy ourselves that the recipient handles personal information in a manner consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles, including by relying on the service provider’s own privacy and security commitments. By using the Service, or by being the subject of a notification described in section 7, you acknowledge this overseas storage and processing occurs in the ordinary course of us providing the Service.
11. Data security
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. This includes restricting access to personal information to personnel and service providers who need it to perform their role, and relying on the security controls of our infrastructure providers.
No method of storage or transmission over the internet is completely secure. While we take reasonable steps to protect personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
12. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Service, to send the notifications and readings described in this policy, to comply with our legal, accounting or regulatory obligations, and to resolve disputes. Where an individual asks us to delete their business contact details under section 7 and we are not required to retain them for a legal or record-keeping reason, we take reasonable steps to do so. When personal information is otherwise no longer needed for these purposes, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it, unless we are required by law to retain it for longer.
13. Access, correction and complaints under Australian privacy law
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, and to request that we correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. This applies whether you are an account holder or a business contact who has not claimed a property.
To make a request, contact us at legal@ai-seeyou.com. We will respond within a reasonable period, and there is no charge for making a request, although we may charge a reasonable fee for giving access if permitted by law.
If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles and wish to make a complaint, please contact us first at legal@ai-seeyou.com so we can try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au or by calling 1300 363 992.
14. Your rights under the GDPR
If you are located in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or UK GDPR may apply to our handling of your personal information. In that case, you have the following rights, subject to certain exceptions:
• the right to access the personal information we hold about you;
• the right to have inaccurate personal information corrected;
• the right to request erasure of your personal information;
• the right to restrict or object to our processing of your personal information;
• the right to receive a copy of your personal information in a portable format;
• the right to withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent as our basis for processing;
• the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
Where we process your personal information on the basis of legitimate interests, those interests are operating, securing and improving the Service, and providing accommodation businesses with the certified readings that concern them. Where we process your personal information to perform a contract with you, that is to provide the Service you have claimed or subscribed to. Where we rely on your consent, for example for optional communications, you may withdraw that consent at any time.
Because personal information may be transferred to and processed in countries outside the UK and EEA, including Australia and the United States, as described in section 10, we take reasonable steps to ensure that any such transfer is subject to appropriate safeguards.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at legal@ai-seeyou.com.
15. Your rights under the CCPA
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended, gives you the following rights in relation to the personal information we collect about you:
• the right to know what personal information we have collected, used, disclosed and sold about you in the preceding 12 months;
• the right to request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions;
• the right to correct inaccurate personal information;
• the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information;
• the right to non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights.
We do not sell or share personal information in exchange for money or other valuable consideration, and we have not done so in the preceding 12 months.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at legal@ai-seeyou.com. We may need to verify your identity before actioning your request.
16. Direct marketing
The monthly certified reading email is a measurement notification, not a marketing communication, and is sent only where you have opted in (for claimants) or on the deemed consent basis described in section 7 (for unclaimed property contacts). If we ever send separate marketing communications, we will only do so with your consent, or as otherwise permitted by law, and every such communication will include a clear way to unsubscribe. Unsubscribing does not affect our ability to send transactional communications relating to an active account, such as claim status updates or security alerts.
17. Children’s privacy
The Service is intended for business use by adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at legal@ai-seeyou.com and we will take steps to delete it.
18. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, our Service, or our legal obligations. Any updated version will be posted on our website with a revised effective date. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
