AI See You vs Profound: which fits your hotel’s AI search programme?

Profound is the stronger fit when a marketing team needs a broad answer engine optimisation platform, including prompt research, content workflows and technical analytics. AI See You fits a narrower commercial requirement: understanding which hotels AI recommends for particular traveller needs within measured destinations. The products overlap in competitive intelligence, but they need not replace one another.

Start with the work your team needs to do

A hotel group’s central marketing team may need to investigate AI search demand, brief new content, check crawler access and report brand performance. A property GM may instead need to understand where the hotel appears for business stays but loses family recommendations to properties outside its usual competitive set.

One team needs a production workflow; the other needs a view of its market. The purchase should reflect who will use the result.

Profound’s platform combines AI visibility analysis with tools for researching demand, inspecting website activity and producing content. AEO, or answer engine optimisation, means improving how a business appears in AI-generated answers. Profound supports the team doing that work across topics and industries.

AI See You’s methodology starts with a recommendation market: a traveller intent within a destination. Luxury escapes in Sydney and conference stays in Singapore are different markets, each with its own competitive pattern. Its monthly Pulse measures those outcomes, with recorded recommendations traceable to captured responses.

Where Profound offers more breadth

Content execution is a substantial reason to choose Profound. Its Agents product documents workflows that research topics, generate drafts, refresh existing pages and publish approved content to a connected CMS. A hotel group with editors and subject specialists can use those capabilities to organise production. The hospitality GEO workflow guide sets out the review and evidence checks that work still needs. That is a different deliverable from a recommendation measurement report.

Profound also offers demand research through Prompt Volumes. The dataset uses licensed real-user conversations, aggregation and modelling to investigate the questions people ask AI. Coverage varies by market and platform. It is distinct from the daily prompts a customer monitors, and access depends on the package.

For a technical team, Agent Analytics adds server-log analysis of AI bots and AI-referred traffic. Seeing a crawler reach a page does not establish that a hotel was recommended. It does help investigate whether the website is accessible and which pages bots visit.

Larger organisations may also need procurement features before they can adopt a tool. Profound documents SSO, role-based access and SOC 2 Type II compliance on its enterprise page. Buyers should check the package and their own requirements rather than treating an engine-count comparison as a complete evaluation.

Where a hotel-specific framework earns its place

A familiar hotel competitive set usually reflects geography, class, price or management judgement. AI can produce a different set for a particular trip. A waterfront hotel might compete with one group for romantic weekends and another for family stays.

AI See You’s defined unit of analysis makes that distinction explicit. Competitors emerge from observed recommendations for the traveller need, rather than one list being reused across every question. Its methodology also separates recommendations from negative appearances and contextual references. A hotel named as somewhere to avoid should not gain recommendation credit merely because its name appears.

Profound can monitor recommendation questions and analyse sentiment. The difference is therefore not that a broad AEO platform is incapable of studying hotels. AI See You supplies a framework already organised around hotel recommendation markets. That can be the more appropriate starting point for a GM who needs an explanation of property competition rather than ownership of a wider content operation.

September 2026 measurement covers 77 accommodation destinations in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and the United Kingdom across seven AI surfaces, as described on the platform page. This is a defined footprint. Confirm that the relevant destination, traveller segments and properties are measured. Public Australian destination recommendations provide one way to explore the coverage; they should not be read as a promise of worldwide coverage.

Choose one, or give each a distinct job

Choose Profound if the buying requirement includes a central AEO workspace, demand research, content execution or technical website investigation. It has self-serve plans as well as Enterprise, so it should not be dismissed as a product only for the largest organisations.

Choose AI See You if the immediate decision concerns a hotel’s competitive recommendation position in a covered market, and the team wants measurement structured around traveller intent. Review the hotel offering alongside an example of the evidence your team would receive.

Using both can make sense when a group assigns Profound to the central team’s AEO work and AI See You to property and destination intelligence. Set separate responsibilities: content and technical investigation in one workflow, interpretation of hotel recommendation markets in the other. If both purchases would serve the same reporting meeting with the same questions, the extra cost needs a stronger justification.

Check the scope before comparing prices

Use Profound’s current pricing to confirm prompt limits, engines, regions and feature access. A starter monitoring plan is not equivalent to its full enterprise capability set. For AI See You, discuss the required hotel or group coverage.

Ask each provider to show the output for one real decision your team faces. Check what was measured, which responses support the conclusion and who will act on it. A useful purchase gives that work a clear owner.
